It’s with great excitement that I can announce that my next book, Heart for the Damned, is set to be released on 1st September, 2025 in eBook and paperback formats!
Heart for the Damned follows on one week after Echoes Beyond the Forest. Arthur’s heroism has inadvertently upset the Seekers Guildmaster, Madam Ivrea, who sends him to his home city, Holdrose, while she cleans up his mess.
Meanwhile, a public execution incites necromancers from across the realm to gather in Southerncrest and demand the decriminalisation of their school. Their presence reignites the Paladin’s Creed, who will leave the city strewn with blood if it means ending the necromancers’ campaign.
When Arthur eventually returns to Southerncrest, he becomes caught in the ancient conflict threatening to destroy everything close to his heart. Fragile alliances test his courage, and in the final hour, he discovers the grim reality of heroism and the cost of his greatest sacrifice.
I’m feeling extremely positive about the sequel. It’s been a thrill to write, and through the past year of revisions and editing passes, I’ve never tired of reading it. In my opinion, it surpasses Echoes Beyond the Forest in every way; the emotional highs are higher, the lows are lower, there are more twists, surprises, and action than before, and the story builds up to a climax I’m very proud of.
It will be a busy couple of months working through the final touches, but the journey has been great, and I’m very excited (and a bit nervous) to see your reaction to the finished book.
